Been doing some work for my brother on a logo. He’s been doing a lot of tying sessions of soft hackle flies as well as development sessions on how to fish them in various waters and conditions. The logo is still in development but I’ve been having a lot of fun working on it and incorporating the beauty of a partridge feather and a trout.

I recently pulled out my old Gretsch to play a little Rocksmith with a friend of mine. I forgot how fun and frustrating learning guitar can be. This game/teaching tool is amazing tho. Makes learning in small progressions a blast since you play to the full accompaniment of the different songs. My favorite so far has been playing along to the Black Keys. What a blast and the girls love plucking along!

Christmas is upon us so the usual rush is here. The girls have been cute and driving Jenn and I crazy asking when it will be time to open presents. Quick plug for Hague’s Christmas Trees. We found a great Scotch Pine in their field and the girls had a blast cutting it down.

Was as to get out on the Wissahickon to do some fly fishing but didn’t have any action. Water is a bit high but in good color. Another fish less trip but I’ll figure it out soon.

Got some terrible news from Jenn’s cousin. Her husband passed away at 45. Reminds me that everyday is a gift and I couldn’t be any luckier.

Special thanks to Chris Holt for taking me out for fall striper action (insert random stripper joke here). Amazing day out off the shores of Island Beach State Park in New Jersey. The morning started off with a fireworks display in the dawn sky and gave way to a bright Indian summer day.

With sand eels about, we set out to find the big fish. Our first stop didn’t get too many strikes so Chris pulled stakes and zeroed in on a honey hole. I’m not sure what Chris keyed in on, the spot looked just like all the other pieces of water that the fleet was spread over, but they were there in spades. Diamond and Hopkin plugs received vicious strikes after motoring down and we were set.

With tired arms and a cooler full of savory bass the bite died down around 10 and we went back to the dock shortly after. It was Chris’s last trip out for the year as he had the boat pulled. The girls and I enjoyed fresh sashimi, striper tacos and grilled fillets the past couple of days.

Glad I was able to see the season out in such fashion.

This morning I found myself free to plan my day however I’d like. My boss gave our team the day off since we put in so much time this summer. So, after making Lily pancakes and shuffling her off to Kindergarten I decided to drive down to the Wissahickon before doing all the pre Thanksgiving chores. I figured with all this rain we’ve had lately it would be blown out, and it was. However, a goregous mist held in the air and I figured I might as well see the other subtleties of the mode of the creek.

In the faint light the moss shone like green neon.

I had hoped to fish today. This past weekend I had hooked a large brown trout in a nice bend but he promptly shook the hook, he’s been haunting me all week. But all is well really, have too much to do anyway. The walk allowed me to get lost for a little while.

Zafar at Aperion Consulting asked me to help start his new company’s identity. His company name originated with the Latin word “Aperio”, meaning to uncover, lay bare, reveal, make clear.

Z’ as he’s lovingly known, wanted a mark that was very clear and distinguishable as his own. The mark is reminiscentof the shape of an eye but doesn’t interfer with the large ‘A. This allows the name of the company to stand out.

This is a main tenant in the BTS culture, client engagement and focus. An interactive banner was used to show BTS’ client stories.
